Valve rating and flow: Control valves should be rated above your system relief pressure and sized to the pump GPM. Auto-return (detent) valves kick the cylinder back automatically at the end of the stroke.
Material and construction: Look at cylinder rod diameter, weld quality, and mount style (clevis, cross-tube, or trunnion) for the load you split.
