works great
We've been ordering from Northern for a while now and this motor is another good one. Customer had a stump grinder wheel drive that needed replacing, this bolted right on, ports lined up, runs smooth. Definitely recommending this to other shops.
Put this on our hay conveyor to replace a unit that finally gave out after years of hard use. This one fit right up, ported easy, and hasn't missed a beat since. Made in the USA too which matters to us.
Fit and finish on this is noticeably better than some of the import stuff I've dealt with. Installed it on a small wood processor and it's been running strong. Only small gripe is the keyway on the shaft was a tight fit — took a little convincing to get the coupler on, but once it seated it's been fine.
Motor runs fine and the fit was good, no complaints there. It does seem to run a little warm under sustained load compared to what we had before — could be a system thing, not sure. Probably still a decent buy for the price, just something to keep an eye on.
