Product Selection Guide

Looking for more hydraulic pumps? Northern Hydraulics offers a full range of proven solutions for industrial and mobile applications, with 40+ years of field experience and customer success stories.

These FluiDyne V20 Series vane pumps are all direct Vickers replacements, featuring the same SAE ‘A’ 2-bolt flange mounting and G1″/G1/2″ BSPP porting for straightforward interchangeability. The key differences are in flow rate, displacement, pressure rating, port/thread style, shaft configuration, and port orientation. Selection depends on your system’s required flow, available mounting, port thread compatibility, and shaft/coupling needs. For more detailed specifications, browse our single stage vane pumps for additional options and technical resources.

?? Important: The specifications shown are for reference and comparison purposes. Always verify specifications with the official manufacturer documentation or contact our technical team at (800) 823-4937 before ordering to ensure compatibility with your application. We cannot accept returns due to specification mismatches.

Model Number Flow Rate Max Pressure Displacement Mounting
WF8202261 (Current) 6.2 GPM 2500 PSI 19.5 cm³/r (1.19 in³/r) 2-Bolt Flange (SAE “A” size)
WF8202297 13.5 GPM 2500 PSI 42.6 cm³/r (2.60 in³/r) 2-Bolt Flange (SAE “A” size)
WF820229 13.5 GPM 2500 PSI 42.6 cm³/r (2.60 in³/r) 2-Bolt Flange (SAE “A” size)
WF8202267 6.2 GPM 2500 PSI 19.5 cm³/r (1.19 in³/r) 2-Bolt Flange (SAE “A” size)
WF820228 8.4 GPM 2500 PSI 26.6 cm³/r (1.62 in³/r) 2-Bolt Flange (SAE “A” size)

Key Differences

Flow Rate & Displacement

Difference: Flow rates range from 6.2 GPM (1.19 in³/rev) to 13.5 GPM (2.60 in³/rev).

Selection Guide: Select higher GPM/displacement models (WF820229, WF8202297) for systems needing faster actuator movement or higher volume. Choose lower GPM/displacement (WF8202261, WF8202267) for smaller circuits or more precise control.

Maximum Pressure & Speed

Difference: All models are rated up to 2500 PSI, except the base descriptions for WF820229/WF8202297 show 2200 PSI (but specs list 2500 PSI). Max speed varies: 2400–3000 RPM.

Selection Guide: Pick models with higher RPM ratings (WF8202261, WF8202267) for high-speed drives. For standard pressure needs, any model is suitable.

Port Thread Style & Position

Difference: Some models have NPT threads, others BSPP. Port positions are either opposite from inlet (180°) or inline (0°).

Selection Guide: Choose matching port threads for your plumbing (NPT or BSPP). Inline ports (WF8202297) suit straight-through plumbing; opposite ports (others) work where right-angle connections are preferred.

Shaft Configuration

Difference: Some models use a standard 3/4″ straight keyed shaft, others have a special (Code 15) shaft; shaft extension length varies slightly.

Selection Guide: Standard keyed shaft fits most couplings. If your system requires a specific shaft, match the code and extension length.

Quick Selection Guide

If you need: Highest flow (13.5 GPM) for large cylinders or rapid cycling

Choose: V201P13P39C11R or WF8202297

Because: These offer the highest displacement (2.60 in³/rev) and flow at 1200 RPM.

If you need: Medium flow (8.4 GPM) with standard mounting and ports

Choose: WF820228

Because: Balances flow and displacement (1.62 in³/rev) for mid-sized applications.

If you need: Compact flow (6.2 GPM) for precision circuits or lower volume systems

Choose: WF8202261 or WF8202267

Because: Lowest displacement (1.19 in³/rev) and flow for small actuators or fine control.

If you need: Inline port orientation for streamlined plumbing

Choose: WF8202297

Because: Port position is inline (0°), minimizing bends in piping.

If you need: Special shaft configuration

Choose: WF8202297 or WF8202267

Because: These models note a ‘special shaft (Code 15)’, check if your coupling requires this.

Compatibility: All models are 100% interchangeable with Vickers replacement pumps and follow SAE J744 mounting—ensuring direct drop-in replacement. BSPP and NPT porting options available.
