BARNES (HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS DIVISION, HALDEX GROUP)

We generally only stock replacement versions for the log splitter type pumps. Virtually every other type of John S. Barnes pump or motor will have to be purchased from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Please call us for assistance with John S. Barnes hydraulic pumps, but please have the complete model, serial, and GC number available so that we can try to help you find the correct replacement.

arnes (Hydraulic Systems, a division of The Haldex Group), Stockholm, Sweden, has been a worldwide leader in the design and development of hydraulic gear pumps and power units for over 70 years. Founded in Rockford, Illinois in 1929, the division is now a driving force behind the success of the Haldex Group. To meet the demands of today’s global market, Hydraulic Systems Division has product engineering support located at all four manufacturing locations-Rockford, Illinois, Statesville, North Carolina, Hof, Germany and SkÃ¥nes Fagerhult, Sweden. A focused multi-national research and development team continues to develop products aimed at the specific needs of the Mobile Equipment Market.

The Barnes (Haldex) Rockford facility employs 390, including corporate staff and sales and marketing personnel. Statesville employs 135. Hof and SkÃ¥nes Fagerhult employ 110 and 65, respectively. Rockford is an ideal location for the corporate headquarters. It is centrally located to many major customers in Haldex Hydraulic Systems’ key markets and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport is easily accessible. An ample supply of engineering talent and skilled labor have supported the strong growth of this facility over the last 10 years.

The Barnes (Haldex) division is focused in 6 key markets. The markets are Material Handling, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, Diesel Engine, Turf Care and Truck. The company markets via a direct sales force and an extensive network of fluid power distributors worldwide.

The company’s strategies are to maintain its position in high share markets and develop the balance of the key markets. This will be done via new product development and leveraging the company’s applications and systems expertise. The John S. Barnes company also plans to grow its international market share and its organization in Europe, the Pacific Rim and South America.
