Enerpac HCL-6008 Lock Nut Cylinder

Gets the job done but the lock nut can be a real pain to engage when you're working in a tight space. Not sure if that's a design thing or just the nature of the beast at this capacity. No issues with actual performance under load, just the ergonomics of using it in the field could be better.

It works. Capacity is there and the lock nut feature does what it's supposed to. We've had a little trouble with the nut being stiff to turn after extended holds but nothing that's stopped us from using it. Wouldn't call it a problem exactly, more of an inconvenience. Decent value for what it is.

Dropped right in on a bridge bearing replacement job, handled the load without any drama whatsoever. The build quality on this is obvious the second you get hands on it — heavy, well machined, feels like it'll outlast the equipment we're using it on. Fast shipping too, recieved it ahead of schedule which helped us stay on track.

This thing is built like a tank and holds position well once the lock nut is set. Only reason I'm not giving it full marks is the instructions that came with it were pretty vague — had to call in to get a couple questions answered before we felt comfortable putting it under load. Once we did though, no complaints on performance.

Waited over two weeks for delivery and when we finally got it set up the cylinder wasn't holding consistent pressure under load. Had to pull it out of service after the first day. Called support and went back and forth for a while without a real resolution. Expensive piece of equipment to have sitting on a shelf doing nothing.
