We use these on some lighter-duty alignment work and the weight savings over a steel unit is noticeable at the end of the day. Build quality looks good, seals are clean, shipping from Northern was fast. Happy with the purchase.
It works, but I expected the plunger travel to feel smoother. Maybe I got a unit that needs break-in, I don't know. Does hold pressure fine once you're there, so it's not like I'm sending it back or anything.
Does exactly what I bought it for — pulling axles and pressing bearings in the field. Only reason I'm not giving it top marks is the retract spring feels a little soft compared to my steel Enerpac units. Not a dealbreaker, just something I noticed after a long day of cycling it.
Recieved it faster than I expected, had it in use the next morning. Fits well with our existing setup and the aluminum body hasn't given us any trouble. Minor thing — the plunger threads could use a little more finish but nothing that affects function.
Pulled this out of the packaging, hooked it up to our pump, and had hydraulic fluid seeping around the base of the plunger before I even got to working pressure. Sent photos to customer support and I'm still waiting to hear back over a week later. Real disappointed — expected better from Enerpac at this price point.
